Ivy Ng
Group Chief Executive Officer
Singapore Health Services Pte Ltd

Ivy has been Group Chief Executive Officer of Singapore Health Services Pte Ltd (SingHealth) since January 2012.  Prior to her appointment as SingHealth’s Chief, she was the Chief Executive Officer of KK Women's & Children's Hospital (KKH) from 2004 to 2012, and Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer of SingHealth from 2008 to 2012.  She was KKH’s Chair of the Medical Board from 2003 to 2004 and Head of the Hospital’s Department of Paediatric Medicine from 2002 to 2003.  

SingHealth is Singapore’s largest healthcare group and comprises Singapore General Hospital, KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Sengkang Health, 5 National Specialty Centres (Cancer, Eye, Neurosciences, Dental and Heart), SingHealth Community Hospitals and 9 primary health polyclinics.

She was conferred the Singapore Human Resource Institute Leading CEO Award 2008, the International Management Action Award 2010, the Public Administration Medal (Gold) 2011 and Her World Woman of the Year 2012.  She is Chair of the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC) Fund Committee and KKH Fund Committee and member of the Boards of SingHealth Fund Limited, Eastern Health Alliance, Singapore Management University, the National Medical Research Council (NMRC), Biomedical Research Council (BMRC) and the Health Biomedical Sciences (HBMS) Committee.

She holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Master of Medicine (Paediatrics) from the National University of Singapore.  She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP, Edinburgh), Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH, London) and Academy of Medicine, Singapore (FAMS).  She is Adjunct Professor, Duke-NUS Medical School and Clinical Professor, National University of Singapore

Christian Wards
Director of Group Healthcare
AIA Group

Christian is Director of Group Healthcare at AIA, developing a more effective customer health journey and improved customer experience across the region. AIA Group is the largest independent publicly listed pan-Asian life insurance group.

Christian has over 15 years of international experience in healthcare from across the health insurance, healthcare provision, disease management and government sectors in a wide number of geographies
including North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Prior to joining AIA, Christian was the Managing Director of Bupa (Asia) Ltd, responsible for Bupa's health insurance business in Hong Kong, and an active member of the Hong Kong Federation of Insurers Taskforce on health reform. During his time with Bupa, he also led the successful acquisition of LuxMed, the market-leading healthcare subscription and private medical care service provider in Poland, and Quality HealthCare, the market-leading clinic business in Hong Kong.

Earlier in his career, Christian practiced hospital medicine in New Zealand and the United Kingdom. He holds a
Bachelor of Medicine, a Bachelor of Surgery and a Master of Business Administration.

Clive Tan
Public Health Consultant, Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Health, Singapore

Clive Tan is a registered medical practitioner and public health specialist in Singapore,
currently holding dual branch head appointments in the Singapore Armed Forces’ Medical Corps, covering Medical Policy and Health Informatics, and an adjunct consultant position with the Ministry of Health, in the Division of Clinical Quality, Performance and Technology.

Clive has strong regional experience, having worked in the World Health Organization’s Western Pacific Regional Office (based in Manila), covering Quality and Patient Safety, Hospital Management, and Health Service Innovation. During his term at WHO, he organized regional meetings and policy round tables involving senior health officials and policy makers, and provided consultancy advice to ministries of health in China, Fiji, Kiribati, Lao PDR, Macau, Mongolia, and the Solomon Islands.

Clive, a Fellow with the Academy of Medicine, Singapore, holds the appointment of Honorary Treasurer for the College of Public Health and Occupational Physicians, and is Deputy Editor for the College’s Newsletter. Most recently, he co-chaired organising committee for the jointly organised 51st Singapore-Malaysia Congress of Medicine and 12th Public Health and Occupational Medicine Conference, which took place from 21-23 July 2017, in Singapore.

Since 2014, Clive served as work group member for the Singapore Health Promotion Board’s Clinical Practice Guidelines on Tobacco Cessation, served as secretary for the Singapore Medical Council’s Complaints Committee, and had served on Sports Singapore’s Sports Safety Committee. For his contributions to medical relief efforts in the Padang, Indonesia earthquake in 2009, he received the distinguished SAF Overseas Service Medal.

Timothy Low
Board of Director
Farrer Park Hospital, Singapore

With more than 30 years in the healthcare space, Dr Timothy Low is an established name in the industry. He is the Board Member of Farrer Park Hospital, part of Singapore’s first fully integrated healthcare complex, Connexion, comprising a hospital, a 5-Star Hotel, as well as a specialist medical centre. He clinched 25 local and regional awards for the hospital over a period of 2 years (2016-2017).

Dr Low has held key management positions in the last 25 years with renowned organizations.

He was CEO of the 380-bed Gleneagles Hospital in Singapore, successfully leading the operational turnaround strategy of the 800-staff facility to build the hospital’s reputation as a 6-star private healthcare provider. In the process, clinching 14 local and regional awards including the highly prestigious Asian Hospital Management Award.

Dr Low also helmed key positions in the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Industry in the Asia Pacific region. Fronting Medical Affairs in senior management, he pioneered a global contract research organisation, Covance, basing the regional headquarters in Singapore.

 

As an Industry leader, Dr Low has earned recognition as an outstanding medical expert who contributes strategically, with deep technical know-how and intuitive financial acumen. He is a passionate transformational leader, maximizing human asset to deliver exceptional experiences for customers.

For his contributions toward the healthcare community, Dr Low joins the prestigious ranks of Stanford Who’s Who. He constantly engages with business experts and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in the healthcare industry. In the last 2 consecutive years, he was awarded the “50 Most Talented Healthcare Leaders of Asia” award as well as ‘Best CEO of the Year’ at the Asia Healthcare Excellence Award conferred by CMO Asia in 2016 and 2017 respectively.

Katharina Lange
Executive Director of Singapore Mangement University, Executive Development

Katharina is Executive Director of SMU’s Executive Development as well as Affiliated Faculty at Singapore Management University.

As regards content, she provides expertise in leadership, strategy and entrepreneurship. She published case studies designed to teach in Executive Education classes, including topics of entrepreneurial leadership and business model engineering. She is certified in Hogan, MBTI and Globe Smart.

Prior to joining SMU, Katharina was Programme Director and Head of Practice Group Life Science Industries at the European School of Management and Technology in Berlin, Germany.

She has extensively designed and taught in executive education programs. Her clients include European and multi-national corporations such as UTC, Otis, Sumitomo Chemicals, Mondelez, Barclays Bank, Johnson & Johnson, Sanofi-Aventis , Bayer AG, Skolkovo Foundation, Infineon, Shangri-La, IBM and Bio-Rad.

For Open Enrollment, she directs the EDB-SMU programme on Infrastructure Excellence, ALPINE, and the J&J Hospital Management Programme.
