Agility, changing perspectives and inter-disciplinary exchange are at the heart of the SMU Executive Development (SMU ExD).
Technological change impacts us every day and its pace keeps accelerating. The need for constant and ongoing organisational transformation adds another dimension of challenges for leaders. Your ability to lead the company of the future matters and the first step to succeed in a rapidly evolving employment landscape is to champion continuous learning and to develop internal capabilities. SMU ExD programmes are organised with the objective of empowering executives for the future and leading transformative culture in their organisations, hence the theme “Cultural Transformation in a Digital Age”.
SMU ExD is dedicated to international talent development in a contemporary Asian setting. Integrating the best of Asian and Western practices and theories, our Public Programmes, and Customised Corporate Programmes deliver outstanding returns on investment for individuals and organisations, leveraging meticulously-designed curricula that address business challenges.
Embedded in the overall thrust to anticipate and bridge the capabilities for the future, SMU ExD aims to be the intelligent agent in propelling the development of executives.
Our commitment to providing transformative education ensures that all programme goals are met to develop the next generation of skilled and responsible business leaders to support the success of Singaporean companies globally and to make global companies successful in Asia.

The role of Steward Leadership in Sustainable Sustainability🌱
Together with Stewardship Asia Centre, it was an inspiring last afternoon thinking about what it would take to drive lasting sustainability.
Drawing examples from his book "Sustainable Sustainability: Why ESG is not Enough" Rajeev Peshawaria, CEO of Stewardship Asia Centre, led an enlightening discussion on why "Leadership" surpasses "Governance". With years of experience and conversations with multiple stakeholders on steward leadership and sustainability, Rajeev challenged the existing notion of ESG on sustainability, and proposed a more purposeful move towards ESL.
Thereafter, the panel discussion with Anju Abrol, Head of Wholesale Banking for APAC, ING, Girish Ramachandran, President APAC, Tata Consultancy Services, and Edward Booty, Founder and CEO, reach52 discussed the challenges of marrying business profit and purpose. Their stories of tenacity as steward leaders inspired the audience to find alignment of purpose and profit while creating value for all stakeholders.
Finally, Professor Emeritus SMU and Chairman of SAC, Arnoud De Meyer, left us with a challenge, to translate insights into action and make a sustainable difference in our sphere of influence.
If you're keen to explore how steward leadership can be a driver of organisational transformation, SMU-ExD Executive Development together with Stewardship Asia Centre have developed The Steward Leadership Advantage Programme (https://lnkd.in/gQjJKkxJ). Join us for the next run starting 2 Sep 2024, and touch base with Desmond Ng if you are keen to find out more.

SMU-ExD Executive Development had the privilege of delivering an 'Introduction of New Energy Trends: From Carbon Capture to Hydrogen Economy' course under the Singapore Cooperation Programme. The 5-day curriculum provided an overview of renewable and low carbon energy technologies, with a focus on the use of hydrogen as a green fuel. Participants were mid- to senior-level government officials from 19 developing nations.
In the 3 months since the programme ran, here are how three participants have benefitted from the programme and applied it in their work.

She was accompanied by, José Snoep, Advisor for Innovation, Technology and Science, Netherland Innovation Network, who shared about the lifelong learning scene in Netherlands.
