MANAGE YOUR CORPORATE
STAKEHOLDERS IN SMART
STRATEGIC WAYS

ABSTRACT

In corporate practice, local culture is generally treated as an obstacle for regional or international firms to overcome, a problem to be solved.  When it comes to strategic-level stakeholder management—employees, suppliers, local communities, government or the media—culture should instead be treated as an opportunity.  During this talk, Dr. Tomas Klvana draws upon his wealth of experience in corporate CSR and regulatory communication, political communication and press relations, and journalism to illustrate exactly how any firm can manage its long-term stakeholder relations, corporate brand building, social license to operate, and talent management.

Given the recent formation of the ASEAN Economic Community and the opportunities now available, Dr. Klvana’s insights offer practical, street-smart advice for managing your firm’s good name when operating outside your home market.  Firms that manage these relationships well, as the research shows, gain a strategic advantage that unlocks value creation and delivers higher returns.
