Robotics, automation and the evolution of the digital technology revolution, along with technologies such as the Internet of Everything (IoE), big data analysis and additive manufacturing, cloud computing will irreversibly transform supply chain operations and logistics, of both within the 4-walls as well as outside the warehouse operations.

What would this impact be on the logistics and supply chain scene and how can a working professional take advantage of the ongoing paradigm shift and be able to find a viable space to succeed in?

The Masterclass will delve into two parts:

The Future of
Logistics Management

In the midst of this change, there is an ongoing impact on talents developments and jobs creation as well as job redundancy.  In this session, President of Supply Chain Asia, Paul Lim, would be discussing more on what are the career opportunities that one can explore and target as well as grow in the midst of these ongoing changes and if there are any "secret ingredient” that can be tapped on to succeed in this industry?

Design Thinking and Creating the Future Supply Chain

In this talk, SMU Associate Professor of Operations Management, Shantanu Bhattacharya, we will focus on technology applications in the supply chain in the near to medium future, and identify actions taken by global companies to optimise their supply chains and build responsiveness in the face of uncertain consumer demand. The role of skills in the management of the supply chain of the future will be discussed, along with an overview of the Global Supply Chain Management Programme at SMU.
